Golden State Warriors at Denver Nuggets predictions

It has been four years since the Golden State Warriors last won the NBA title but they will be feeling pretty confident in themselves given how this year’s playoff series has started.

At the time of writing, the Warriors are 2-0 up in their series against the Denver Nuggets and have won their games by 16 and 20 point margins respectively.

The Warriors ended the season third in the Western Conference with a 53-29 record, while the Nuggets could only manage a 48-34 record that saw them finish sixth.

Stephen Curry’s return from a foot injury has been timely for the Warriors and he was the top-scorer in the second playoff game against the Nuggets with 34 points.

He has also been helped out by both Jordan Poole and Klay Thompson with both players contributing heavily to the scoring.

In the regular season, the Nuggets held a 3-1 record over the Warriors so they are not out of it just yet, while they also boast last season’s MVP Nikola Jokic in their roster, although the Warriors may ultimately prove too strong.

Milwaukee Bucks at Chicago Bulls predictions

The Milwaukee Bucks are looking to defend their NBA crown and they qualified for the playoffs after finishing third in the Eastern Conference with a 51-31 record.

Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 27 points to ensure the Bucks made a winning start to the playoffs, as they took Game 1 of their series with the Chicago Bulls 93-86.

The Bucks ended the regular season in slightly indifferent form, losing four of their last nine games overall, while they have also lost four of their last six on the road.

However, their record against the Bulls in the regular season stands them in good stead, as they won all four of those clashes.

While Antetokounmpo has been the main man, Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday have also been impressive in support, top-scoring several times between them.

The Bulls ended the regular season in poor form with four losses from five games and they will have to turn that form around quickly if they are to win against the Bucks.

Phoenix Suns at New Orleans Pelicans predictions

The Phoenix Suns were the outstanding team in the regular season with a very enviable record of 64-18, far better than any other team in the NBA. It means they are in a great position to go on and claim their first NBA title after losing the final last year to the Bucks.

They began their playoff series confidently against the Pelicans, who qualified via the “Play-in” system. The Suns didn’t have a great end to the regular season, losing four of their final six games, but they won their first match of the playoffs 110-99.

Many high-performing individuals this season have come from the Suns’ roster including Chris Paul, who has averaged more assists than any other player in the NBA during the 2021-22 season (10.8 per game).

In the regular season, the Suns beat the Pelicans in three of their four meetings and will be expecting to continue that form throughout this series.

Philadelphia 76ers at Toronto Raptors predictions

The Philadelphia 76ers won the first two games of their playoff series against 2019 NBA champions the Toronto Raptors and they have looked in excellent shape thus far.

Joel Embiid has been their shining light as he continues to be the highest Points per Game scorer of the season – he grabbed another 31 in Game 2 of this series.

The 76ers ended the regular season in strong form, although it was the Raptors that won three of the four meetings between the two teams prior to the playoffs.
