La Liga Predictions

Inform your La Liga predictions ahead of this week's fixtures with insight from Pinnacle's odds alongside team news and analysis.

Mallorca vs. Celta Vigo predictions

Celta Vigo

Celta Vigo are favoured to emerge victorious from this clash featuring two of La Liga’s bottom four. Oscar Garcia Junyent’s side presently sit in 17th, but have pulled away from the bottom three after amassing eight points from last their four games. However, four of their last five fixtures on the road finished as a draw.

Mallorca are now eight points from safety and enter this match with a solitary point to show for their last five games. They failed to keep a clean sheet in their last eight runouts and did not score in all but one of their last ten league defeats. The home team only won once in these two sides’ last five meetings.

Leganes vs. Sevilla predictions

The market gives Sevilla just under a 50% chance of curbing a run of four successive draws against Leganes. Despite their recently developed tendency to share the points, only Real Madrid can boast a better away record this season and they have not failed to score on their travels since a 4-0 defeat to Barcelona in October. Sevilla kept a clean sheet in eight of their last ten league victories.

A five-match winless streak has left Leganes looking increasingly destined for relegation and they have netted the fewest home goals this campaign (14). However, they have been involved in some relatively tight fixtures as of late, with just one of their last ten matches settled by more than a margin of one goal either way.

Barcelona vs. Atletico Madrid predictions

Atletico Madrid

Barcelona are firm favourites to win this round’s showpiece fixture between second and third. They have the best home record in the league, having dropped just two points in 16 matches at the Camp Nou while netting three goals per game. Barcelona did not concede a single goal in any of their last five league wins, although they are overperforming against their expected points by the second largest margin in La Liga.

Atletico’s current four-match winning streak is the longest they have enjoyed in the league this campaign. However, their away fixtures have been consistently low-scoring affairs, averaging a league-low 1.9 goals per game and featuring a league-high eight draws. Suitably, five of their last six matches versus Barcelona did not witness more than two goals.

Alaves vs. Granada CF predictions

Granada CF

The odds are struggling to determine a favourite for what they are indicating will be a closely contested match between Alaves and Granada. The hosts won just one of their last seven matches while keeping a lone clean sheet in the process, although they have often proved a tricky defensive unit at the Mendizorrotza Stadium, conceding only 12 goals in 16 league appearances there.

Meanwhile, a four-match winless run has limited Granada’s hopes of securing a European spot, although they have extended their current undefeated streak on the road to four games after being defeated in the eight beforehand. Worryingly for Alaves, Granada’s last six league wins were all against current bottom half teams.

Bet: Alaves vs. Granada CF odds

Valencia vs. Athletic Club Bilbao predictions

Athletic Club Bilbao

Valencia and Bilbao are separated by just a solitary point and place in the table, but the former is favoured to win this fixture. Only the top three possess a better home record than Valencia, who are undefeated at the Mestalla in 2019-20. However, they lost three of their last four matches and netted a mere three goals in their last five games.

Bilbao have recently fared somewhat better by collecting eight points from their last five games, but they have only won two of a possible 16 away fixtures while netting exactly a goal per game. They have failed to defeat Valencia in their last six attempts.

Real Betis vs. Villarreal CF predictions

Real Betis

Villarreal CF

A run of four victories in five games has culminated in Villarreal launching an unlikely top four bid, although the market suggests defeating Betis will be no easy task. Villarreal have struggled for consistency away from home throughout the season, racking up seven wins and eight defeats from 16 matches. Of their last ten league wins, eight were settled by a solitary goal.

By contrast, Betis managed just four points in their last five games, although they were victorious in half of their 16 home matches this season and have scored the fourth-most home goals in La Liga (30). The home team has taken the three points in these two sides’ last five meetings.

Real Valladolid CF vs. Levante UD predictions

Real Valladolid CF

Levante UD

Valladolid are narrow favourites for this lower mid-table match-up. The hosts are winless in four matches and have now been involved in a league-high 14 draws, although most worryingly only last-placed Espanyol have won fewer home games this season. They have only scored more than one goal on two occasions in their last ten fixtures.

Conversely, Levante have witnessed a league-low five draws in 2019-20, partially as a consequence of suffering the joint-most defeats outside of the bottom three (15). They amassed only four points from their last five away matches and are yet to keep a clean sheet on their travels this season.

Bet: Real Valladolid CF vs. Levante UD odds

Eibar vs. Osasuna predictions

Eibar are predicted to extend their ongoing undefeated streak to five matches at the expense of Osasuna. They have endured a firmly mixed home record this season, both winning and losing seven matches from 16 runouts at the Ipurua while both scoring and conceding 22 goals. They kept a clean sheet in four of their last five league wins.

Osasuna have produced mid-table form throughout the season and indeed collected seven points from their last five games. They have won just a quarter of their 16 away matches this campaign, three of which were by a 1-0 scoreline. All but one of these teams’ last six meetings finished as a draw.

Bet: Eibar vs. Osasuna odds

Real Sociedad vs. Espanyol predictions

Real Sociedad

Last-placed Espanyol are now seriously facing the prospect of relegation, but the market suggests their visit to Sociedad will not assist them on this front. They have earned a narrow majority of their 24 league points away from home, but are still winless in six away fixtures and can only boast a mere two clean sheets on the road.

Sociedad’s European ambitions have been severely damaged by a run of only one point from four matches in which they netted just two goals. In the last ten games between these two sides, both teams scored in seven.

Bet: Real Sociedad vs. Espanyol odds

Real Madrid vs. Getafe predictions

Real Madrid

Real Madrid’s victory against Espanyol moved them two points clear at the top of La Liga and they are expected to cement their position with a home victory versus Getafe. Madrid are another team sporting an undefeated home record, having scored just over two goals per game and conceded only 10 goals in 16 home matches.

Getafe have struggled for form since the league returned to the extent that they have dropped out of the top four. They won just one of their last four away matches, although they did keep a clean sheet in their last nine league victories. They failed to score against Madrid in their last three meetings.
